But, let us say here and now, that what we are talking about here is  not  
The End of History   (TEoH)
For  we know that  TEoH , so eloquently outlined by Jean Hackman in her 
heavily-disguised knitting manuals, 
has happened not once,  nor twice,  but thrice, 
separate to   (and a precursor of )    that ' other ' event  ( TEOTW .)
According to Hackman (!and all of us) , History got so needled by everything 
happening in it     to it    and on its behalf   that She/It decided - unilaterally - 
to literally wind things up   (once and for all)      in
1941                                                        Knit One Purl Harbor  -  Hackman / Roosevelt
                                   and
1974                                                    Knit One Purls A Singer  -  Hackman / Brooks                           
                                   and 
1992   ( or thereabouts)                Knit One Purls Fucked  -  Hackman / Fukuyama  

To restate, just because History ended  doesn't mean the world also ended, at least not at those times.    
We'd have to wait a bit longer for that to happen,   but more of that later  .. .
